In 2013, the Shullanberger Family faced an unexpected obstacle that changed the course of their lives.  Their beautiful Daughter Bryleigh was only 2 and she had just been diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD.)

MLD causes a breakdown in communication between the nerves and the brain. This loss of or miscommunication accounts for the loss of acquired functions, paralysis, blindness and seizures. At this time there is no cure for MLD. (According to MLD Foundation)

As this genetic disease started slowing stealing Bryleigh’s physical abilities, the Shullanbergers experienced an outpouring of love and support from the Community and even strangers.  Inspired by their faith that “anything is possible if you BELIEVE,” the Believing for Bryleigh Foundation (B4B) was founded as a means to support families whose Children are living with MLD or another disability.  Since then, the impact of B4B and it’s partnerships has been global.  Currently, there is a Care Network in development that will provide Pediatric Leukodystrophy patients and their families with unprecedented access to knowledgable care at major Children’s Hospitals throughout the Country.

New Braunfels comes together to help every year at the B4B Annual Benefit Concert.  It’s a place where Families enjoy live music and BBQ.  Activities are provided for Children (and Adults.)  Funds are raised through ticket sales, raffles, a silent auction like you’ve never seen before and an exciting live auction presented between music sets.  That’s where Sadie comes in. . .

We found Sadie through a New Braunfels breeder, she is a sweet 7 week old AKC German Shorthaired Pointer that loves to be around people and other animals.  You can meet her at the 4th Annual B4B Benefit this Sunday, September 18th where she will be starring in the Live Auction.  The believer that bids the highest will get to take Sadie with them (along with all the necessary supplies to make her comfortable in her new home.)

• Her dew claws have been removed and her tail has been docked.
• Her first set of shots and dewormer were given at 6 weeks.
• She has been raised in a loving family environment with children.
• Both of her parents display good hunting insticts and are also great family companions.
